Skipped classes last week and drove to Brunswick, Maine with a friend who used to go to school up there. The drive was somewhere around 14 hours and we broke up the drive by me driving all the way there and she driving all the way back. The worst part was that there was way better picture opportunities when I was driving. But the trip turned out really great, I saw Portland, touched the ocean, visited the 24 hour L.L. Bean store in Freeport, ate lobster, drank lots of good beer (there are a ton of breweries up there, we ended up bringing back over 3 cases worth), and met a lot of fun people.

U.S. Represenative Charles Wilson: "How you doin' sun?"

Camping, micro brews and beaches

While at home I took a short trip out to Delaware with two friends. We camped at a nice little state park just North of Rehoboth Beach called Cape Henlopen. We toured the Dogfish Head brewery in Milton, ate dinner at the brewpub in downtown Rehoboth, and despite the lame ambitions of my cohort, I walked out to the beach alone to wait for the sunrise. The next day we stopped in St. Michael's, MD for lunch and to check out the Easter Shore Brewing company. While Dogfish Head is a massive craft Brewery, Easter Shore is just off the ground, but enjoyable nevertheless. It was here that our good friends turned us onto a drink called the Rusty Rocket, which consists of a sample size pour of there IPA and a few dashes of hot sauce for a sensational finish.

Chinese Hotpot

Went to at least 6 "international" grocery stores in the Takoma park area with my brother to track down some hotpot seasoning. International was in quotes because most of them ended up being hispanic grocery stores with a bottle of soy sauce or two. Finally we found some i cooked up a meal for the family.
