A Felon's Best Friend











Hocking Correctional Facility's program for rescued and abandoned dogs. The facility works with a local animal rescue program and provides temporary care for the dogs until they can be adopted. Even though the program is small, holding only 10 to 15 dogs at a time, there has been over 400 dogs come through the facility in the last 11 years. Each dog is assigned to an inmate, who is responsible for caring for the dog and teaching it basic commands. The average stay for each do is about 3 months.
