Incense

While driving through tibet our guide asked if we wanted to see how incense was made. Naturally I was interested, all our other rest stops consisted only of going the bathroom and stalling time until we could pass through the police check points. I shot these frames in literally 15 minutes and I realize it could use a lot more work but I was happy with it because its probably the closest thing i have to a photo story from this trip. Being the good journalist that I am I didn't get any names, I just know its a family business passed down through the generations.

Signs, posters and other things that make for lousy pictures

Nothing special, just some of the signs that made me laugh.

Nanjing, Shanghai And Some Places In Between

Went on a 6 day tourism trip with a chinese friend and two of her friends. Not only was it extremely touristy but it was all in chinese. Needless to say I got bored really fast, and waking up at 5 in the morning to sit in some tourist trap is mot my idea of a good time. However I did get rather good at several of the built in games on my cell phone. Be it noted that in Yatzee I got 369 points out of a possible 400 (there are no points for bonus Yatzees in this version) and my high score in snake is 1615. I did go to some classic chinese tourist spots though, Yellow Mountain, Lake of a Thousand Islands, West Lake, Wu Zhen and Shanghai. All in all it want so bad. Traveling with three out of shape city girls got annoying but it got me out of Beijing and made me practice chinese. Shanghai was pretty cool too.
